Your data stays yours. TabMod is designed for privacy by default.
TabMod ("we", "our", or "us") is a Chrome extension that helps you manage, organize, and sync your browser tabs. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we handle, how we handle it, and your rights over that data.
When you use TabMod, the following data is stored exclusively on your device using Chrome's built-in chrome.storage.local API:
| Data | Purpose | Storage |
|---|---|---|
| Tab URLs and page titles | To display your saved tabs in organized lists | Local only |
| Workspace and folder names | To organize tabs into named groups | Local only |
| Extension settings (theme, language, etc.) | To remember your preferences | Local only |
| Anonymous usage counters | To show you stats (tabs saved, memory saved) | Local only |
We never have access to this data. It never leaves your computer unless you explicitly enable cloud sync.
If you choose to enable cloud sync, the following data is transmitted to our cloud provider (Supabase, hosted in the United States) and stored encrypted:
| Data | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Tab URLs and page titles | Synced across your devices |
| Workspace/folder names and structure | Synced across your devices |
| Account email address | To identify your account |
| Sync metadata (timestamps, device identifiers) | To resolve conflicts between devices |
A paid Pro tier is in development and is not currently on sale. When it launches, subscriptions will be processed by Lemon Squeezy as merchant of record. We will not see, store, or process your payment details — card numbers, billing addresses, and payment information are handled entirely by Lemon Squeezy under their own privacy policy.
| Service | Purpose | Data shared |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Cloud database for optional sync | Tab URLs, titles, account email |
| Lemon Squeezy | Payment processing for Pro subscriptions (when launched) | Payment details — handled by Lemon Squeezy, not us |
We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any advertising or tracking SDKs.
